Only 40 days and 8 hours till the kickoff of the 2008 NFL season! That means 32 days till we draft for our fantasy football team. Let me just say.....I CANNOT WAIT! I do not get excited about any other sport but Football. I see Baseball as just filler until football season. Growing up in Illinois I am a die hard Chicago Bears Fan and Cubbies Fan(If you are a fan you do know that we do die hard EVERY year:(). As a female football fan I find that I do not get taken seriously by most male football fans. That is until we get into a conversation about football. He who I live in sin with(HWILISW) found out after we had been dating 3 months. When I threw the remote control at the tv because the Center(Olin Kruetz) had a false start penalty!!?? HWILISW then asked me if I could just go shopping or something on Sundays like normal women LOL. He watches his stinking Dallas Cowboys with nary a sneer at the tv whether they do good or bad. My screams on the other hand can be heard all over the neighborhood. So I ask YOU the one reader that I have......Are You Ready for Some Football!!??

We adopted Hazel the cat the Sunday after the 4th of July. She is as mellow as they come and fits right in. Luigi can be caught cleaning her at any given time, so the cat with the most seniority has given his lick of approval!

Unless you are dead or from another planet, you have heard the news that Brett Favre is retiring, no wait! He is not retiring. For Heavens sake man go quietly into that good night. You would think a Head of State has been shot with the coverage he has been getting. As a Bears fan Brett Favre has been the source of many nightmares for me. I think he is a Great player and my *only* beef is that he didn't play for the Bears. Well that and the fact we were his bitches for 10 years. I really do not think he is endearing himself to the Packers organization for behaving the way he is. Do I think he has a right to come back and play? Absolutely! I do think the Packers should release him so he can go play for the Bears. Not because I think he will make us a contender, but because my Cheeshead sister in law will cry herself to sleep in the knowledge her hero is now playing for the other team. I say this knowing that Brett Favre Fandom tends to produce people such as these:













Oh well as long as there are people who dress like this, there will be people like me there to make fun of them. On that note GO BEARS!

Rainman and his cousin V are 2 months almost to the day apart in age. When I was growing up I always wanted a sister(I am the youngest of 3 with 2 brothers). Of course I never got a sister. My parents had children young so we never had any cousins really close to our age. The one we did have was of course a boy. My brothers always had each other......I had myself. I love that both of my children have cousins close in age. Even though my children are 10 years apart, they will always have someone to hang with, someone to get into trouble with, and someone to have their back.
